Do not remove loose splinters, chips and similar
parts on the workpiece by hand from the area
around the rotating saw blade.
Do not use the work bench outdoors in the rain.
Do not saw "freehand", i.e. guide the workpiece
by hand without a stop or ruler.
Prior to initial operation, make sure that the por-
table circular saw is secured correctly in the re-
taining panel and that this is attached to the
CMS-GE properly.
Always make sure the protective cover is secured
properly before operating the CMS-TS-55-R.
Use the push stick to guide the workpiece safely
past the saw blade.
Support long workpieces at the removal end.
The tabletop should not be damaged in any way
(e.g. cuts around the saw opening). Replace the
tabletop immediately, if damaged.
Do not use the CMS-TS-55-R to cut firewood.
Secure round timber on either side of the saw
blade to prevent it from turning.
Avoid overloading the portable circular saw.
Wear suitable protection:
such as ear protec-
tion, safety goggles, a dust mask for work which
generates dust, and protective gloves when
working with raw materials and when changing
tools.
5.2 Other risks
In spite of compliance with all relevant design reg-
ulations, dangers may still present themselves
when the machine is operated, e.g.:
Workpiece parts being thrown off,
Parts of damaged tools being thrown off,
Noise emissions,
Dust emissions.
6Assembly
The following section describes the process of in-
stalling the portable circular saw in the retaining
panel and the basic unit CMS-GE. Removal is per-
formed in reverse sequence to installation.
Before installing the plunge-cut saw, move the
viewing window/splinterguard on the machine
to the highest position.
6.1 Installing the cutting depth adjuster
Adjust the cutting depth stop on the portable
circular saw

to approx. 30 mm.
Remove the screw
[2-1]
from the cutting depth
adjuster.
Slide the cutting depth adjuster over the addi-
tional handle on the portable circular saw, as
shown in Fig.
[3]
.
Adjust the cutting depth stop on the portable
circular saw
[2-2]
to 55 mm.
Push the circular saw downwards until the cut-
ting depth adjuster rests on the circular saw.
Tighten the screw in the cutting depth adjuster
to secure to the portable circular saw base
[4-
1]
.
Set the cutting depth stop on the portable circu-
lar saw to the maximum cutting depth.
6.2 Installing the portable circular saw in
the retaining panel [1-5]
Turn the saw retainer over and position in the
opening on the CMS-GE.
Unscrew the rotary knobs on both retainers
[5-
3] + [5-6]
.
Slide the movable retainer
[5-3]
as far outwards
as possible.
Insert the portable circular saw in such a way
that the saw base rests against the fixed retain-
er
[5-6]
.
Adjust both jaws
[5-5]
until the portable circular
saw is sitting on the guide groove
[5-4]
on the
retaining panel and there is no play.
Slide the movable retainer
[5-3]
up to the stop
on the portable circular saw base.
Tighten the rotary knobs on both retainers
[5-3]
+ [5-6]
.
The portable circular saw should now be securely
fixed to the retaining panel.
Check
this before con-
tinuing assembly.
6.3 Joining the protective cover bracket [1-
7] to the guide wedge
Unscrew the locking knob
[5-2]
for cutting
depth adjustment.
Push down the portable circular saw until the
cutting depth indicator
[5-1]
shows approx. 20
mm.
Tighten the locking knob
[5-2]
.
Slide in the protective cover bracket
[6-1]
onto
the guide wedge
[6-2]
until the holes are
WARNUNG
Risk of injury, electric shock
Always pull the mains plug out of the socket be-
fore performing any type of work on the ma-
chine!
